East Wenatchee - Fancher Heights Commercial Center

Fab view from edge.JPGRecent growth on the plateau above the city of  East Wenatchee, known as Fancher Heights, has spurred two development companies to vie for the opportunity to construct a small commercial center for the area.  The purpose of the commercial center would be to provide such potential  services as:  a convenience store, gas station, gift shops, small restaurant, hair salon, and possibly some small professional offices.   Currently the closest grocery store and fueling services are 2 1/2 - 3 miles away.

There will be a public meeting held this coming Wednesday, June 15th, with planning commission members from East Wenatchee and Douglas county to consider and, possibly,  decide on how to proceed.

The Fancher Heights area overlooks the Wenatchee Valley and offers stunning views of the city of Wenatchee and the convergence of the Columbia and Wenatchee Rivers.    The population base on the plateau has probably doubled in the last 5 years.   Stimac construction, the most prolific builder in the area, has constructed more than 300 homes.

If you wish to attend the meeting, here is the information:
     When:   Wednesday, June 15th, 6:30 p.m.
Where:  East Wenatchee City Hall, 271 9th St. N.E.
