Wenatchee Homes: Demand High, Sale Numbers Decline
Despite high demand, total home sales in the Wenatchee area declined dramatcially (over the same period a year ago) in the last quarter of 2006. Lack of "affordable" housing is blamed. Here is a link to a recent article from the Wenatchee World newspaper, citing a report put out by Pacific Appraisal Associates in Wenatchee.
Regardless of the fact that the average Wenatchee home (at $217,000) is still priced significantly less than the state average (at $301,000), affordability is, indeed, an issue.
