Wenatchee's 2007 Apple Blossom Festival

Apple Capital sign.jpgThe biggest event of the year in Wenatchee is the 11-day Washington State Apple Blossom Festival, unofficially wrapping up with the Grand Parade on the first Saturday in May.  This years festival is slated to get under way next Thursday, April 26th.  Technically, there are a few events slated for Sunday, May 6th but the Grand Parade is really the grand finale event.  The youth parade is held the first Saturday of the festival (April 28th this year).

For a complete list of events, click here then click on "Festival Events".  Along with all the other events going on, there is on-going live entertainment at Memorial Park, on the lawn below the Chelan County courthouse.

If you've never been to the Washington State Apple Blossom Fesitival, I highly recommend it.  It's a bit crazy in town because of the mass crowds (especially on the second week-end), but it's a well run flurry of activity for a week and a half every Spring, celebrating the blooming of a new crop of apples.  Apples, afterall, are our original claim to fame in the Wenatchee Valley.   If you're going to need a place to stay, you need to know someone who lives here... or make room reservations a long ime in advance.   It's an event you need to plan ahead for, but well worth the effort.
